Building on the restorative practices philosophy, this two-day training will focus on Restorative Conferencing, which is an effective intervention that addresses serious misbehaviors or harmful incidents in schools. This process brings together the student(s), families and others who have been impacted by this behavior, to talk about what happened, build empathy and understanding, and find ways to repair the harm. In a restorative conference, the person causing the harm is required to take responsibility and be accountable for their behavior. When properly planned, this process gives all parties an opportunity to voice their thoughts and concerns, and together determine an agreement for the future.
